Practical measurement note (very important)
Pet volumes can be very small. If your result is a tiny amount (for example, a few hundredths of a mL), measurement accuracy becomes a problem.
If the result is difficult to measure reliably:
- Ask your veterinarian about additional dilution for accurate dosing
- Do not “eyeball” micro-volumes
What This Calculator Does
This calculator helps pet owners and veterinary professionals determine accurate peptide dosing based on an animal's body weight. It:
- Calculates the correct dose in mcg based on your pet's weight and a per-kg dose tier (Low, Mid, or High)
- Determines how many units to draw on a U-100 insulin syringe based on your vial concentration
- Supports multiple peptides — BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, Pentosan (PPS), KPV, or a custom peptide — each with research-informed dose presets
- Tracks supply usage so you know how many doses remain in your vial
- Generates a dosing schedule with optional calendar export
What You Need Before You Start
To use this calculator, you need 3 things:
- Your pet's weight — Select a size category (Small, Medium, Large, Giant) or enter an exact weight in kg
- Your peptide and vial info — Select the peptide you're using, the vial size (mg), and how much bacteriostatic water you used to reconstitute it (mL)
- A dose target from your veterinarian — Choose a Low, Mid, or High dose tier, or enter a custom mcg/kg dose your vet has recommended
How Peptide Concentration Is Determined
The calculator figures out your concentration automatically based on two inputs: vial size and water volume.
Formula:
Concentration (mcg/mL) = (Vial size in mg × 1,000) ÷ Water volume in mL
Example:
5 mg vial + 2 mL bacteriostatic water
Concentration = (5 × 1,000) ÷ 2 = 2,500 mcg/mL
Once the calculator knows your concentration and your pet's weight-based dose, it converts the required mcg into syringe units, so you know exactly how much to draw.
Use the Right Type of Water
Most peptides are reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, which helps prevent bacterial growth in multi-use vials and maintains stability.

Understanding the Peptide Calculator for Pets
What Is a Peptide Calculator?
The Peptide Calculator for Pets is a helpful online tool designed to assist pet owners and veterinary professionals in accurately determining the correct dosage of peptides for animals. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that can support various health benefits in pets, from improving joint mobility to aiding in muscle recovery or immune support.
Why Accurate Dosage Matters
Proper dosage is essential when it comes to your pet's health and safety. Giving too little may result in no noticeable benefit, while too much can potentially cause side effects. The calculator helps guide responsible usage by taking into account your pet’s weight, peptide concentration, and specific product guidelines.
How the Calculator Works
Using the calculator is easy. You simply input your pet’s weight, the concentration of the peptide solution (mg/mL), and the desired dosage (mg/kg or per vet recommendation). The tool then provides a precise measurement for each dose—helping to ensure your pet receives the care they need in a safe and effective manner.
Understand the Calculation
This tool simplifies the process, but the calculation is based on concentration, total peptide amount, and unit conversion.
For a deeper breakdown, see peptide dosage math explained.
Who Should Use This Tool?
This calculator is intended for use by pet owners working in consultation with a veterinarian, or by veterinary practitioners themselves. Always consult your vet before starting any new supplement or peptide therapy for your pet.
Helpful Tip
Keep a dosing log and monitor your pet’s response over time. This can help your veterinarian adjust treatment if necessary and ensures your pet stays healthy and happy throughout their peptide regimen.
Peptide Dosage Calculation
Accurate peptide dosage is essential to support the health and well-being of your pet. Whether you're working with a veterinarian or managing a prescribed plan at home, understanding how to calculate the correct amount based on your pet’s weight can ensure safety and effectiveness.
The dosage for pets is usually determined by weight and is often expressed in micrograms or milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg or µg/kg).
Here's a simple approach:
Dosage (mg) = Pet’s Weight (kg) × Recommended Dose (mg/kg)
For example, if a peptide’s recommended dose is 0.05 mg/kg and your dog weighs 10 kg:
0.05 mg × 10 kg = 0.5 mg total dose
Understanding the Right Dose for Your Pet
Just like humans, pets require the correct dosage of peptides to ensure safe and effective results. Giving too little may not yield the intended benefits, while giving too much could potentially cause adverse effects. That's why it's essential to calculate the appropriate amount based on your pet’s individual needs.
Several things affect how much peptide your pet should receive, including:
- Weight: Most peptide dosages are calculated based on body weight, typically in milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg).
- Type of Peptide: Different peptides serve different purposes—some may support joint health, while others promote healing or muscle growth. Each one has its own recommended dose range.
- Species and Breed: Dogs and cats metabolize supplements differently, and some breeds may have unique sensitivities.
- Age and Health Status: Senior pets or those with existing health conditions may require adjusted dosages.
Our easy-to-use Peptide Calculator takes the guesswork out of determining your pet’s ideal dose. Simply enter your pet’s weight, select the peptide being used, and let the calculator do the rest. The result is a tailored recommendation to help you support your pet's wellness with confidence.
Effect of Peptides on Pets
Pet owners often seek safe and effective ways to support their animal’s health, especially as they age or recover from injury. Peptides have emerged as a promising option, offering targeted support for various bodily functions in a natural and well-tolerated way.
What Are the Benefits?
When used appropriately, peptides can support your pet’s overall well-being by promoting tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and enhancing joint and muscle health. Many pet owners report seeing improvements in energy levels, mobility, coat condition, and even mood.
How Do They Work?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. In pets, they help regulate biological processes at the cellular level, stimulating repair or revitalization where needed.
Safe and Targeted Support
One of the most appealing aspects of peptides is their ability to target specific areas without disrupting healthy cells or systems. This makes them especially useful for older pets or those with chronic conditions that require consistent but gentle support.

FAQ for Pet Peptide Calculator
How is the dose calculated?
The calculator multiplies your pet’s weight in kg by your dose target (mcg/kg) to get total mcg, then divides by concentration (mcg/mL) to output mL.
Why does it convert pounds to kilograms?
Veterinary dosing is commonly expressed as per kilogram, so pounds must be converted to kg for correct math.
What if I only know the vial size (mg) and the amount of diluent (mL)?
Use: (mg × 1000) ÷ mL = mcg/mL to get concentration.
What does “mcg/mL” mean?
It’s how many micrograms of peptide are in each milliliter of your mixed solution.
My result is extremely small. Is that normal?
It can be. Small animals + high concentration often produce tiny volumes. For accuracy, discuss dilution options with your veterinarian.
Can this tool tell me what dose my dog should take?
No. Dose selection should come from a veterinarian and/or vetted veterinary sources.
